It's been almost a month to the day since I've blogged but, as I intended to do, I have been working away on finalising my book. It's been mostly 'mind' work as opposed to getting the words on paper, although I have written a further ± 8,000 meaningful words (not much in a month). I suppose that's to be expected given that creating worlds isn't always the easiest thing in the aspects and universes to do...
I have to thank Alex Nader so much for reading the manuscript so far and for his invaluable inputs. It's quite difficult to be objective about something to which one has given birth but, Alex's critique was always constructive and, happily for me, he was also very positive about the story even saying that it drew him in. That's such a joy to hear.
I also had the privilege of reading the manuscript for Alex's second book in his 'Beasts of Burdin' series, Ty Down. Alex will be able to give you dates of the publishing of both his first and this book. I haven't read Beasts of Burdin but if it's half as good as Ty Down I can highly recommend it. Ty Down is a fast-paced, sitting-on-the-edge-of-one's-chair, kind of story with more than enough twists and turns to satisfy most people (certainly me).
Well, that's all I have for now and, as I still have my head squarely in Faeré, I'll see you all again in a while, at which stage I'll have the time to visit all your blogs.
