Shyness can really be a bit of a curse in this fast-paced, productivity-driven world of ours. This is particularly true of allowing oneself to experience romance. When one is shy, it is often difficult to express emotions to let an 'other' know the depth of love and intimate feelings which one feels for them. The default is often to rather back away from the vulnerability.
I wrote Crystal Nights for us.
"Crystal Nights", in the context of the poem, symbolises a magical, serene, and introspective nighttime shared by two people. It embodies all-encompassing physical and emotional beauty within an intimate spiritual honesty.
This is juxtaposed by “opal lights” which, in their depth, symbolise purity and innocence. Opals also represent change, creativity, and the whole spectrum of human emotions including romantic love.
Crystal nights and opal lights draw together two powerful symbols and flirt with the suggestion of a night of heightened emotions within the beauty of life's complexities, highlighted under the night sky.
Does The Bible give us references for romantic love? Why yes, it certainly does. In fact, God gives us an entire book which poetically describes passionate love between a man and a woman. This book is the Song of Solomon.
God is Love. This encompasses all love including romance. Humans were created to be together in loving relationships.
CRYSTAL NIGHTS
Shouted whispers and silent cries
Tell of my love for you
Yet still
I hide away
Within my sincerity
Within the strands of my intuition
As my mind touches your mind
As my soul senses your soul
Muted hues and vibrant shadows
Portray my love for you
Yet still
I hide away
Within my timidity
Within the filament of my unconsciousness
As my hands hold your hands
As my body embraces your body
Crystal nights and opal lights
Bring my love to you
Yet still
I hide away
Within my honesty
Within the filigree of my conscious
As my heart throbs to your heart
As my life breathes your life
