Through Whispering Leaves

In those carefree days of long ago

I remember the fun we had

From early morning to when the sun went down

We laughed and we ran with the wind in our hair

We made go-karts out of a box and chair

We floated paper boats down tiny streams

As we built our very own life of dreams

We built a tree house on the sturdiest branch

It was a beautiful thing

This castle of our very own

And we surveyed our kingdom

From our hidden hideaway

Through whispering leaves

We watched but were not seen

Exactly as a child believes

So in that land of daily dreams

We watched the world go by

What a treasure our childhood was

Those days

I miss them

I really do
