Hosea 4: 6 (KJV) My people perish from a lack of knowledge
These eight little words are some of the most important words you will ever read. Nowadays, it is popular to say that ‘knowledge is power’. Whilst that is true, it certainly isn’t the whole truth. Knowledge is life itself. God our Father is wants us to know Him in all aspects of our life, not only spiritually.
In the little poem that follows, anyone who lives on or has anything to do with the land and farming knows the importance of keeping gates closed. This is such a basic manifestation of knowledge that people tend to overlook its importance. Keep your physical, emotional and spiritual gate closed to evil and allow God to protect you in all things.
God Bless
HE WHO KNOWS A GATE
He who knows a farm gate
Knows a gate
The rickety clanking
Impossible to move
Farm gate
Through acres of bushes
Brush and scrub
He passes on horseback
On foot
In a cart
To reach his destination
He knows the gate’s never ever left open
On pain of his and other death
The rickety clanking
Impossible to move
Farm gate
He is a farmer
One of a breed
He knows a farm gate
Knows the life and death need
To keep the damn thing closed
He who knows a farm gate
Knows a gate
The rickety clanking
Impossible to move
