Pendulum Pulse

As we go into winter, we are still having glorious rainstorms - most unseasonal.  I and my garden love them but those out in the cold and wet will be taking strain.  My thoughts are with them.

Pendulum Pulse

Whispers
Of
Wintry
Wisps
Wheezed
Out of autumn days
Transforming
Temperate breezes
Into
Sodden
Bitter
Aches

A shivering
Grim-faced
Sentence
In sidereal time
As
Inevitable
As
A
Pendulum
Pulse

Kitty Heaven

  1. Winter is coming, no matter what.
Here we are into spring and soon summer. It's almost surreal to hear the seasons change in the opposite direction.

I love the opening of your poem. You captured the impending chills so eloquently... :)

  3. Pendulum time .. how it swings and how well expressed. Thank you. One kitty watches, the other swipes at it ... the other two are unconcerned! Just like real life!

  4. Adorable kitties! Nice poem, too. Though I had to think a bit about why you were writing of the coming of winter in April. Especially since the first comment about it being surprising to be still getting rain at this time of year fits California so well!

  6. Shh. No more talk of winter. I'm tired of it and the snow where I am needs to go away fast. =P
